Homeschool Climbing Class

Upper Limits Rock Gym & Pro Shop in Bloomington is a gym whose mission is "to provide a professional, high quality climbing gym that exceeds standards set by the industry, thus providing an enjoyable environment for the community to experience climbing." Upper Limits is owned by a homeschooling family who wants to offer a special program just for other homeschool families to get some exercise and share some fun together.

Upper Limits has provided us with a flyer detailing more information about the rock climbing opportunities that are available to homeschool families.

Rock Gym 101

Designed after their Rock Gym 101 class, parents and students will learn to belay, use equipment, and tie all the important safety knots. Anyone under 18 will have to have a signed waiver to participate; you can download that at the website or take care of it at the gym before the class. If you've never climbed, this is a great new experience!

Parents or students age 11 and up pay $15, and kids age 10 and under pay $10. These prices include the harness and belay device rental (a $6 savings)! If you want to rent climbing shoes, which are optional, you can do that for $2.

The first class this fall will be October 30 th from 1:00p.m. - 3:00p.m. Space is limited, so reservations are required. Please call 829-8255 and ask for Lindsay if you have any questions or to reserve your spot.

Open Climbing

Open Climbing is ideal for groups that have completed Rock Gym 101. Discount rates are offered to homeschool groups who come on weekdays, however you must call and set up at least two dates a month. More details are available on the Upper Limits flyer.
