Six Flags' Homeschool Read to Succeed program is available to homeschool families who live within a 250 mile radius of a participating Six Flags theme park. Students in grades K-6 are encouraged to read recreationally for six hours (360 minutes) and they can then earn a FREE ticket for admission to a participating Six Flags Theme Park. Additionally, one homeschool teacher from each homeschooling family is eligible to earn a free ticket.

Who Can Participate

This program is only offered to students in grades K-6 and one homeschooling parent in their family. This program is not offered to preschool, junior high or high school aged students.

How to Participate

  • Register Online
    Registration opens in the fall of each school year. Parents can directly sign up their school online; they no longer need to sign up with a coordinator in their area. Visit Six Flags Homeschool Read to Succeed to read about the proram and register.

  • Read 360 Minutes
    Read and log your 360 minutes of recreational reading. Recreational reading includes newspapers, comic books, novels and non-fiction. Students can read on their own or parents can read to them and count these minutes towards your total. Reading that is required for school does not count towards your total.

  • Submit Your Reading Minutes
    Reading logs have to be mailed into Six Flags. The date may vary from year to year, but it is usually early March. Visit Six Flags Homeschool Read to Succeed to find the exact dates.

  • Print your Tickets Tickes are emailed beginning May 1st to the email address which the parent submits at the time of registration.
