The 2008 Homeschool Formal Prom was a great success! Thanks to everyone who came, to everyone who helped, to all the chaperones, and to all the sponsors who generously donated to make the night more affordable. Our program for the evening began with family time until 8:30. Intermingled with the great variety of appropriate dance mixes throughout the night were a break-dancing demo, some Old English and Armenian folk dances, and Senior Recognition. In a room adjacent to the dance floor, students could also have their pictures taken and enjoy some light snacks which included a chocolate fountain. Emcee Sam King made sure everyone went home with a door prize and some new dance steps. After the formal event came to an end, many students joined an After Prom party held at a committee member's home. Fun and games continued in much more casual attire until after breakfast at 6:00 AM. Photos taken by Mr. Ritter are available at snapfish.com. There you can download photos for free or order any prints you want for a small fee. Attendees will be sent an email with the link and password when the film is developed and pictures are uploaded. Steve Arney of The Pantagraph covered the event. You can read his story and see the staff photographer's pictures at pantagraph.com. We'd love to hear from you! Send an email including what you liked and suggestions you might have for next year. If you'd like to volunteer to help with planning in the future, be sure to contact us by October, 2008. The 2008 Homeschool Formal Prom Committee |
