Do you know that only five percent of the population is ready to command the public platform? As Christians, we can't afford to be a silent majority. If you want your teenager to be able to speak on a public platform with poise and confidence, we are here to help!

Communicators for Christ will be beginning a new chapter program in the CAHSA area this summer. Don't miss this opportunity to help your students improve on their public speaking skills.

Chapter Program

The Communicators for Christ Chapter Program will now be offered in this area. The vision is that a network of groups would partner with CFC to further the vision of coaching cultural communicators at the local level. Tracy Ketring from Flanagan, IL, along with Clara Bixby and Wendy Rixstine from Peoria, are partnering with CFC to bring this amazing opportunity here in the form of Operation: Serve.

Operation:Serve will help to instruct 12-19 year-olds how to confidently share their message to the community. Chapter participants will be required to present on a minimum number of non-competitive community speaking platforms in addition to a community project. Your student will learn and practice speaking skills so they can speak on at least four community platforms (youth groups, community organizations, schools, etc.) For our chapter community project, we will be working on a group project to raise money and awareness about human trafficking.

Beginning, June 2, 2008, we will be meeting from 4-6 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month through November. The cost is $25 per family for one child. Each additional child in the family is $5.00. We are currently partnering with a club in Peoria. For this reason, one meeting each month will be near Peoria. The first meeting will be held at Salem Ranch in Flanagan from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, June 2. There will be a 15 passenger van available for transportation from Flanagan to Peoria.

Because of the training involved, we ask that you make every meeting possible. While the training will be focused on children ages 12-19, please feel free to bring younger siblings. If there are enough younger kids who want to learn to speak and to participate, we can arrange training at their level as well.
